Your smile is incredibly important. It is one of the first things you notice when you meet someone and when you look at yourself in the mirror. A whiter, brighter smile is beautiful - it can help you feel better about yourself and make a memorable impression.

Your lifestyle and the ageing process can stain and darken your teeth. Many things we do on a regular basis can contribute to stained teeth, such as:

  • Coffee
  • Tea
  • Smoking
  • Red wine

Tooth whitening is a simple and efficient way of lifting the look of your smile. There are non-professional procedures and clinically unproven teeth whitening tips available, which unfortunately can often lead to unsatisfactory results, you should look for a whitening procedure that is:

  • Fast and convenient
  • Long lasting
  • Low sensitivity
  • Proven to be safe and effective
  • Performed by Ollie & Darsh

CEREC

A sophisticated, computer based treatment system that is the very latest technique available here at Ollie & Darsh. Cerec 3D has a proven performance with unrivalled success and unequalled capabilities. Most treatments requiring a crown, inlay or onlay can require more than one appointment. The Cerec 3D system is a single visit treatment where all the stages are completed in a single appointment

How is it done?

Ollie & Darsh examine the tooth and determine the appropriate treatment at the treatment planning stage. It could be a simple filling, or a full crown, depending on how much healthy tooth structure is remaining and the clinical judgement of your Dentist. Anaesthetic is administered and your tooth prepared for the restoration.

Optical Image Impression

An Optical Impression of the prepared tooth is taken with the CEREC camera. Instead of filling a tray with impression material a series of pictures are taken.

Ollie & Darsh coat the prepared tooth with a non-toxic, tasteless powder. A camera is then used to take a digital picture of your tooth. This whole Optical Impression process only takes a minute.

No Temporaries

The CEREC machine helps the Dentist create the restoration for your tooth. The CEREC 3D software uses the digital picture and converts it into a 3-dimensional virtual model on the computer screen in front of you.

Your Dentist then uses their dental expertise to design the restoration using the CEREC 3D computer program. Within a few minutes, your Dentist clicks a button, and the restoration design is sent to a separate milling machine in the office. A ceramic block that matches your tooth shade is placed in the milling machine. About 8 minutes later, your all-ceramic, tooth-coloured restoration is finished and ready to bond in place.

Finally, we try the restoration in your mouth to ensure proper fit and bite. The restoration is then polished and bonded to the prepared tooth. Your tooth is restored with no "temporary" or return trip necessary.

All of this is done in a single appointment!

Sterilisation

Ollie & Darsh utilise the latest up-to-date sterilisation technique encompassing a disinfector and an autoclave to clean and sterilise our instruments and equipment.

The sterilisation room is transparent and is visible to all our members. Here at Ollie and Darsh we are proud of our sterilisation procedures and thus are more than happy for our members to see the processes involved.

LCD screens

All members have a dedicated screen in the clinic. This allows you to relax, watch a movie or view educational media.

We provide all our members with cordless headphones to minimise the sounds they hear in the clinic and focus on the feature presented on the screen

Digital x-rays

Intra-oral sensors

Full mouth orthopantomograph

We have revolutionised the practice of taking x-rays at the Ollie & Darsh. We have said good-bye to non-environmentally friendly x-ray film & toxic chemicals.

The process is quick: we just point, click, and start diagnosing. This is an environmentally friendly solution as well as helping to provide immediate pictures to diagnose quickly with.

Velscope

Velscope is a revolutionary hand-held device that provides Ollie & Darsh with an easy-to-use adjunctive mucosal examination system for the early detection of abnormal tissue - our in house oral cancer-screening unit.

The technology is based on the direct visualization of tissue fluorescence and the changes fluoresce when abnormalities are present.

Velscope's fluorescence technology aids in the early visualization of mucosal diseases and enhances effective oral mucosal screening.

Magnification

All treatment is completed under magnification with loupes.

Both Ollie & Darsh clinicians use 2.5 times magnification to make sure nothing gets past their eyes.
